Tom Lyons Taxidermy Profile Photo
meet Tom Lyons
Wildlife artist and owner, Tom Lyons has had a passion for fish for the bulk of his life. Born and raised in New England, Tom’s obsession for fish began over 30 years ago when he would bike to the ponds near his home to fish. From this humble beginning, Tom developed into an avid saltwater and freshwater angler, casting his rod throughout New England and beyond.

Tom’s work as a wildlife artist began over 15 years ago, a natural extension of his fishing. Unsatisfied with the quality of mounts he was able to get from area taxidermists and the long turnaround time, Tom chose to train in the art of fish taxidermy. He has studied under world-renowned fish Artist, Rick Krane of Anglers Artistry, where he received diplomas in Taxidermy Excellence and Advanced Taxidermy Excellence. Tom’s sole mission is to recreate that trophy catch in painstaking lifelike detail, preserving that moment for a lifetime.

What to consider when choosing a taxidermist:

  • Take your time and choose carefully; there's a huge variance in quality and level of detail.
  • Ask to see work samples. Is the level of detail as advertised?
  • Do they guarantee a fast turnaround time?
  • Low pricing is typically reflective of lower quality.
